東京で活動するブラジル人フォトグラファーのEllieとコンテンツクリエーターのGuti。ブラジルと日本をテーマに2人が開設したSNSは総フォロワー46万人を超え、一躍人気クリエーターに成長。そんな彼らは突如2022年4月、車中泊での日本一周の旅に出た。今回の個展では、北は北海道、南は沖縄まで旅を通して彼らが見た日本の素晴らしい景色や人々だけでなく、日本の各地に住むブラジル人達との数々の写真を展示する。ブラジル人から見た日本、また日本で生まれ育ったブラジル人のリアルな人生がストーリーと共に展示されるのが見所だ。
2023年、彼らはブラジルへの移住を決意。移住前に日本でやり残したことは無いか2人で話し合った結果が日本一周だった。それも車中泊旅である。彼らは車旅ならではの景色に憧れを抱いた。『日本には自分たちが未だ知らない景色がたくさんある、それを見ずにブラジルに行って後悔は無い？』彼らはそう思った。また同時に日本に住むブラジル人がどのような人生を歩んできたのか知りたいと思った。SNSで発信していく中で、彼らからの相談が増えるようになった。日本に住むブラジル人は言葉が話せないことや、日本文化へ慣れないことから生活に苦しむ人が多い。そしてエリーもかつては、その一人だった。日本で活躍するブラジル人を撮影し、彼らの人生のストーリーを記録する。日本での生活に悩む同じバックグランドを持ったブラジル人の若者が共感し刺激を受けられるよう作品として残したい、そんな思いが二人の日本一周旅の目的の一つとなった。そんな彼らの冒険の舞台は2023年、ブラジルに移る。今後の活動にも目が離せない。

Ellie, fotógrafa nipo brasileira e o criador de conteúdo japonês Guti moram em Tóquio. Nas redes sociais onde compartilham sobre o tema Brasil e Japão ultrapassaram 460.000 seguidores no total e eles se tornaram muito populares entre a comunidade. Em abril de 2022, eles embarcaram em uma viagem por todo o Japão de carro, e em 2023 estarão se mudando para o Brasil. Enquanto conversavam sobre se havia algo que ainda queriam fazer no Japão, a resposta dos dois foram a mesma - conhecer e viajar todo o Japão. A melhor opção seria de carro, e além de ser o principal meio de transporte, seria também a sua casa móvel pelos próximos meses.
Nesta exposição, eles mostrarão as maravilhosas paisagens do Japão, desde o extremo norte de Hokkaido até as pequenas ilhas no sul de Okinawa. Vão também expor inúmeras fotografias de brasileiros que vivem em várias partes do Japão. Com essas fotos vocês conhecerão o Japão pelos olhos os do Guti e Ellie, e a vida real de jovens brasileiros que cresceram no Japão e que tem histórias inspiradoras para contar. Muitos brasileiros que vivem no Japão lutam para sobreviver porque não falam o idioma e não estão familiarizados com a cultura japonesa. E Ellie já foi uma delas. Um dos objetivos da viagem do casal pelo Japão era deixar uma obra que pudesse simpatizar e inspirar todos.
O palco das suas próximas aventuras passará ser no Brasil em 2023.

Brazilian-Japanese photographer Ellie and content creator Guti are based in Tokyo. Their social media is focused on Japan and Brazil, which currently has over 460,000 total followers. In April 2022, they decided to embark on a spontaneous road trip around Japan. This turned into a transformative 7-month journey, documented in this photo series.
In this solo exhibition, Ellie and Guti not only document the incredible scenery and people of Japan they saw on their travels—from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south—but also the stories of Brazilians living across Japan.
Ellie and Guti are now ready to move on to the next chapter of their lives—moving to Brazil in 2023. But before they left, they wanted to make the most of their last months in Japan, visiting all the amazing places and basking in stunning scenery on a unique voyage. At the same time, they wanted to know what Brazilians living in Japan experience day-to-day. Many Brazilians living in Japan struggle to make ends meet because they cannot speak the language and are unfamiliar with Japanese culture. Ellie was once one of them. The couple hopes that their trip around Japan and this photo exhibition will inspire people, encouraging greater empathy and understanding. Keep an eye on their future activities.
